Bill Cosby and Sidney Poitier re-team in the second of their three laugh-packed pairings. Cosby plays Billy, a sly trickster who's treasurer of the Sons and Daughters of Shaka, presided over by a grand pooh-bah (Ossie Davis of Do the Right Thing) and recently fallen on hard economic times. Poitier is fellow lodge member and skilled hypnotist Clyde, who follows where Billy's schemes lead. The two pals borrow the Skaka bankroll. Then they reinvest it in some heavy New Orleans betting action after Clyde puts a winning whammy on a long shot boxer (gangly Good Times veteran Jimmie Walker) The return on investment beats anything a bank can do. The risks are higher, too. Six months after making enough money to rescue their lodge, Bill and Clyde receive visitors: the mob!
